Looking For Motivation in SMC Business?
I had a member tell me just the other day that she was having trouble getting motivated to go out and land some retail accounts (she wants to be a wholesaler).
And I, in my usual sensitive, understated way, said, "Are you kidding me? How can you NOT be motivated?"
This particular member has a full-time job she hates (and if I told you what the job was, you'd understand why). She's been putting in tons of hours— mainly because she's worried about layoffs, and doesn't want to lose the job... that she hates. Gee, tough to find any motivation there to get a business going.
She's got three kids, one of whom has her sights set on an advanced education. At the family's current income, that would mean some substantial student loans. Wouldn't it be great to be able to pay for that from the income generated by a thriving wholesale business?
Aside from all that, NOW is the most lucrative time of year for SMC Members. If that's not motivation enough, I don't know what is.
My point is, if you're in need of motivation, start by looking right in front of you. You may find yourself saying, "How could I NOT be motivated?!"
